Spindle Liners, also known as Spindle Sleeves or Lathe Spindle Reducers, are used to reduce the inside diameter (I.D.) of a CNC Lathe or Turning Center in order to accommodate smaller-diameter bar stock. The I.D. of a Spindle Liner is usually .030” to .060” over the diameter of the bar stock, and is designed to reduce whipping and vibration during the machining process. The correct use of a Spindle Liner will increase your machining speeds and deliver a better finish with closer machining tolerances.
Lucy’s Machine Company has been making custom-designed Spindle Liners since 1972. All Lucy’s Spindle Liners are made from 1026 Alloy Steel DOM Tube for strength and durability. Each Spindle Liner is made-to-order by our master craftsmen with welded collars and straightened to .005” T.I.R.
SPINDLE LINER CARTS
- 1026 Alloy Steel DOM Tube Construction
- Welded for Strength and Durability
- Heavy-Duty Wheels with Locking Mechanisms
- Custom Manufactured to Your Exact Specifications
- Holds Between 10 and 15 Spindle Liners
- 3-4 Week Standard Delivery

Our Spindle Liner Carts provide a great way to store and organize all of your spindle liners in one location. Each of our heavy-duty carts is custom made to order and features storage tubes with I.D.’s that are .050” larger than the outer diameter of your liners, providing you with a safe, secure and mobile storage solution. The average cart footprint is 17” x 24” so it’s easy to store your liners while using a minimum of shop floor space.
Your investment in spindle liners can really add up (with an average cost of $500 each). It just makes sense to keep all of your liners stored securely in one mobile unit that is built to last. You’ll find that our Spindle Liner Carts will pay for themselves over time while helping you keep your shop clean and organized.
DRAW TUBES & BARS
- 1026 Alloy Steel DOM Tube for Standard Draw Tubes
- 4340 Alloy Steel Tube for Thin-Wall Draw Tubes
- 4130 or 4340 Alloy Steel for Draw Bars
- Standard or Metric Threads
- Any Length

- Guaranteed to Fit Virtually Any Machine Tool
- Shipment to Any Destination World Wide

A Draw Tube or Draw Bar uses axial (linear) motion to activate (open or close) a chuck on a CNC Lathe or Turning Center. Draw Tubes and Bars perform identical functions – the only difference is that a Draw Tube is hollow (a tube) to accommodate bar stock, and a Draw Bar is solid.
Lucy’s Machine Company has been producing Draw Tubes and Draw Bars for a wide variety of machine tools since 1972. All Lucy’s Draw Tubes are made from 1026 Alloy Steel DOM tube hardened to HRC 28/32 for standard wall thickness, and from 4340 Alloy Steel for thin-wall applications to .190”. Our Draw Bars are made using 4130 or 4340 Alloy Steel for strength and durability.
All Lucy’s Draw Bars and Tubes can be ordered with standard or metric threads. We also supply a full range of Draw Tube Adaptors made to order.

Chuck Adaptor Plates, sometimes called Back Plates, are used to fit a variety of different chucks to your CNC Lathe or Turning Center. Chuck Adaptor Plates are a critical link between the machine tool and the chuck and must be properly designed and precision machined to maintain the accuracy of your machine tool.
Lucy’s Machine Company has been making Chuck Adaptor Plates since 1972. We offer a range of configurations from A5 to A20 and D-3 to D-11 taper in sizes from 5.00” to 31.50” diameter. All Lucy’s Chuck Adaptor Plates are made using A-36 Steel Plate for strength and stability. Our Chuck Adaptor Plates can be used with any type of chuck including manual, air, or hydraulic from any manufacturer.
MOUNTING BRACKETS
- A-356 T-6 Aluminum Alloy Construction for Weight Reduction and Strength
- Precision Machined for Close-Tolerance Accuracy
- Guaranteed to Fit Virtually any CNC Lathe / Air Chuck Combination
- 8-10 Day Standard Delivery

Air Chuck Distributor Ring Mounting Brackets (DRMB) provide a method of attaching the distributor ring for an air-actuated chuck to the spindle bearing cap and air pressure source on a CNC Lathe or Turning Center. Air Chuck Distributor Ring Mounting Brackets are stationary and do not turn with the lathe spindle or chuck.
Lucy’s Machine Company has been manufacturing Air Chuck Distributor Ring Mounting Brackets for more than thirty years and a variety of industries and applications. All of our Mounting Brackets are precision machined from A-356 Aluminum Alloy to minimize weight and are heat treated to a T-6 condition for strength, stability, and reliability.
BAR SUPPORT STANDS

Bar Support Stands provide a support system for machining bar stock that is greater than the lathe spindle. Bar Support Stands are also used to bridge the gap between your CNC Lathe or Turning Center and an automatic bar feeder. Typically anchored to the floor, Bar Support Stands must be configured to hold the bar stock at the centerline of the lathe spindle.
Lucy’s Machine Company has been fabricating Bar Support Stands for a wide variety of machine tools since 1972. All Lucy’s Bar Support Stands are made using A-36 Steel Alloy Plate and 1026 Alloy Steel DOM Tube, and feature welded construction for strength and durability. Nylatron® bushings provide a wear-resistant contact surface for the bar material. Our Support Stands range from 10.00” to 24.00” in length and can handle any bar stock diameter.

The Problem:
You’re running four-foot bars in a CNC lathe built for three-foot bars. You’re using an extended Spindle Liner, and the material and liner are sticking out of the back of your machine. Coolant is seeping through the liner and being flung out the end, creating a mess on your shop floor.
The Solution:
Lucy’s Coolant Shields. These simple and effective devices are made from 1026 Alloy Steel DOM Tube, heliarc welded for strength and durability and black oxide coated to prevent corrosion. Each Coolant Shield is made-to-order to fit any CNC lathe/bar feeder combination. Our Coolant Shields are available in a range of diameters up to 6.00” I.D., and up to 12.00” long.
